About the Indian Coast Guard
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) was formally established on 18 August 1978 as an independent armed force under the Ministry of Defence. With the motto "Vayam Rakshamah" (We Protect), the ICG is responsible for maritime security, coastal surveillance, pollution control, and search & rescue operations across India's 7,516 km coastline. Salary & Benefits
Selected candidates will receive attractive pay scales under the 7th Pay Commission:
- Navik GD: ₹21,700 - ₹69,100 (Level 3) + allowances
- Yantrik: ₹29,200 - ₹92,300 (Level 5) + technical allowances
Benefits include free medical facilities, subsidized ration, accommodation, insurance cover, and 45 days annual leave. After 15 years of service, Naviks can be promoted to Pradhan Navik with salary up to ₹1,12,400.
